Casting call

Because I don't have enough things in my life to ignore, I've decided to start a podcast. It's not going to be anything fancy, just something like a mix tape. It's taking me a while to get it together because my music is on 2 different computers. Hopefully I can sell my saxophone soon and and buy a computer. That way I can get all my music together and really pump this stuff out. Fingers crossed, people. Fingers crossed.

Homeward Bound

I leave Thursday morning for home. I've been feeling a bit homesick since Zach left, so I'm a bit glad to go back. Then again, i'm going to miss the crap out of being here. It's awesome to wake up every morning to see my cousins, and to see my brothers and sister-in-law all the time.

I'm a bit terrified about flying home. I'm not afraid of flying, I just hate it. Flyings hard for people with long legs. What I'm scared about is switching flights. I switch planes in Las Vegas. I've never done that by myself before.
I'm also nervous that for some reason I will have something in either my checked in bag or my carry on that will make them detain me. I can't think of anything except maybe the fireworks ;) . It's not anything major, just those snake pellets that you light on fire and they grow. I was going to light some tonight but it's getting dark.

It's like they knew! Today Craftzine posted these instructions on how to make a terrarium in a mason jar. I will have to get on this soon at some point.

In unrelated news, I'm very much in love with the song Furr by Blitzen trapper.

My body is a cage that keeps me from dancing with the one I love, but my mind holds the key.

Okay, ummmm... The trailer for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button? The one with Arcade Fire? AMAZING.
Seriously, that song is one of my favorite songs. Not just of Arcade Fire, but of any band.
They play it in the trailer, no other sounds, just the song and just LOUD. I love it.
Not to mention that the film looks incredible and I really want to see it.

Seriously though. I can't find it on youtube, or I would post it. AMAZING.

Stealing the covers

There is a disappointment I can't quite explain when I go to chromewaves on Sunday at midnight, only to discover that I don't like the cover they posted, or even worse I already have it. I hate to wait another week to see if they post a better one.
At least the other cover blogs update more frequently.

The Night Starts Here

I can't wait until September 16, when I can watch Pushing Daisies whenever I want.

Yeah yeah, I can do that now with the internet, but it's not as fun to watch show in tiny little screens with ads running on the sides. Also, I want to sprawl out on my couch and watch.

Also, I cant stop listening to Radiohead's "House of Cards".

97% done with the owl. I just need to figure out that stupid left foot. Can I hide it behind something? Maybe he is riding a rocking horse.

It's a bit chilly right now. That makes me super happy.

Someone I am friends with on facebook but I really can't stand (don't ask me why we are facebook friends) wrote his status as "so-and-so can touch his toes while only bending at the waist". I really want to write on his wall "Well la-tee-da. Color me not impressed, Bartholomew Bragger. I can do that too, and I'm a fatty!"
Then I realized that is childish. Then I fought back and forth with myself and decided not to do it.

Rotten Apples

Right now, I really want to listen to Queens "Another One Bites the Dust". I totally would too, but there is one small problem: I have no working iPod.

For Christmas 2 years ago, I received an first generation iPod Nano. Awesome, amazing, spectacular. I didn't have to lug around my CD player anymore! Life was good.
At least I thought it was until about a year ago, when the battery started to die and the whole thing turned to crap. At first it was simple, occasionally it wouldn't turn off for the first 2 or 3 tries. After time, it got worse and worse until it would die after one song. It became the most expensive paper weight I owned, but with it's super light weight it couldn't even do that job well! It was done. R.I.P iPizzle, you piece of garbage.

Now let's hop over to the 18th, my birthday. I had asked for a new iPod battery and the little tool to open the iPod. I think it's 16 bucks for the whole package. Instead, my parents got me an iPod Video Nano! Holy crap. I'm 100% okay with that substitution. What battery?
This thing rocks. Lot's of space for music, totally revamped iQuiz which is now fun, and videos. The quality is awesome! Now I can watch Stephen Colbert miss the God Machine anywhere I go!

Unfortunately this is where the honeymoon ends. Last night, I fell asleep while listening to my iPod, so I was unable to turn it off myself. With my previous nano, it would turn off on it's own. It slept when I slept. I guess Apple decided that wasn't so important anymore. This morning I wake up and my iPod is frozen. It apparently froze at 3:41 am, as that is the time that is stuck on the screen. Also, it says the lock is on, which I have tried turning on and off to no avail. The battery is shown to be half full, but I can't tell you the real level. Also, the back light is on, as if it's taunting me.

Dun Dun Dun... Another one bites the dust...

I tried to plug it into the computer, but all it did was practically destroy my computer. ITunes wouldn't come up, but when I tried to eject it via the toolbar it gave me some garbage about some application was using it, meaning somewhere on this computer iTunes had stolen my iPod. I decided to go against everything I stand for, and I unplugged it without ejecting. Suddenly iTunes popped up! What the Finland?!

Now, if any of you are skimming through this and thinking "OMG! TL;DR! LOL!" (because I know that you talk like that), here's what I'm getting at:

I have a love-hate relationship with iPods. They are my favorite of the mp3 players, because I love the wheel, the big screen, and the very organized and detailed menus. I just hate that they are the most expensive turds on the market.

Tomorrow is a trip to the Apple Store. Fingers crossed, people. Fingers crossed.
